Role Overview
Selected to join the Marketing & Communications team at the West Suburban YMCA and one of the leading non-profits in the Greater Boston area. Worked alongside the Asst. Director and Director of Marketing, gaining hands-on exposure to all aspects of non-profit marketing, communications, and media relations over a 10-week, 15hrs/week internship.

Tasks & Projects
- Assisted with daily operations of the Marketing & Communications department
- Published WSY events to online event calendars
- Fulfilled requests for marketing materials, brochures, and images
- Researched and sorted photographs for the WSY image database
- Assisted with social media content and contests on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook
- Creative brainstorming and storyboarding for upcoming WSY programmes
- Assisted with large-scale campaigns including annual fundraising campaigns
- Supported on and offsite media opportunities
- Drafted press releases and media advisories and helped pitch them to media
- Assisted with writing short copy for internal and external marketing materials
- Achieved CPR and First Aid Certification
- Designed promotional posters and graphic assets for YMCA programmes
